About our Founder

Briana DeSeaniae Murphy

Before founding Grandfather’s Heart, she was already a light in every room—leading with faith, conviction, and the quiet strength of her grandfather’s wisdom.

From setting the stage at the Red River Fellowship of Christian Athletes Youth Night before NFL legend Keith Davis, to moderating powerful conversations, the journey has always been rooted in service and impact.

Whether interviewing trailblazers or serving as a reoccurring media host for Austin’s largest Black church—this mission has always been clear: love, lead, and leave legacy.

In 2019, she created Behind the Mask: The Shop Talk Edition, a sacred space for women and girls to grow, heal, and show up authentically.

And in 2018, she planted the seeds of HBCUnite at the Bigger Than Me Youth Summit, empowering students in grades 6–12 to make bold, informed choices about their futures.

Now, all of those moments live on through Grandfather’s Heart—a nonprofit rooted in legacy, love, and unapologetic faith.
